Diirt Upcycling had a crazy vision. What came out of the mind of Cedric, the man behind this project, is something that is beyond ordinary, all in the name of recycling and letting his creative side take control.
Skateboarding took over, it’s no secret. What you see in the streets are skate shoes, Thrasher Magazine is staying the same while the masses want to rock its Flame logo t-shirt to “look fresh”. Skateparks are poppin’ up in every city and the Olympics await the “new sport” with open arms. But skateboarding is not what it is today. Forget the sport and the trophies, skateboarding is about seeing what other people can’t see, both in the concrete jungle and in next level items, just like this DiY Sk8 box.
Think about a skate deck that you want to change. What are you gonna do with that? Throw it in the trash? Nossir, you have to turn it into a cruiser board. Inside the sheet of grip rolled up that is featured in this box there is a sticker that gives you a line to follow in order to cut your board. Stick it on and cut your deck.
Now you are ready to put together the new cruiser board. These clear wheels are fast and the bearings are faster. Nuts are gold and pads are soften and voila, now you have a new cruiser board to chill when you feel like.
I posted on YouTube a video of the above process and me and Ema/Nema video were so hyped that… we forgot to take some time to shoot pictures. What you see here are video frames. We are sorry but not so much in the very end. Isn’t ours another creative way to… recycle a video?!
