Estevan Oriol is a real heavyweight. He’s not fat, no no no! He’s tall and just huge. Plus he’s heavy on the streets. This LA based Mexican American started to be known as a manager for Cypress Hill and then his photographer career just took over and turned his works into contemporary icons. Call it gang lifestyle, call it california imagery, whatever you call it, Estevan took pictures of it. His touch is unique. Raw poetry. From pictures of homies, to booties & mamis, I’m in love with his production. Some other people may be in love too, since Estevan opened a shop called The Last Laugh in collaboration with the world famous top of the line tattoist Mr Cartoon. Their drawings and pics, when they end up on clothing or accessories, are nothing short of amazing. Especially when one of these ends up on a skate deck like this from his line with Upper Playground. Seven plys of pure enjoyment is what Max P @ Interjeans brought me, knowing that this is a jewel for me. Not only for me, it seems. Ghetto fab jewelery Han Cholo from Echo park area in LA, has customers from RZA to Fergie and anybody in between. You may have seen the name on collaborations with Diamond supply co, like their latest pendant. One of Han Cholo most impressive designs has remixed the fingers, in the design of the above picture that can be found on caps, belts, tees and pendants of their collection. LA may be a city of dreams but no, you’re not dreaming, this is all true!
