“Cliques, posses, crews and clans/can’t none of y’all ni**az f*** with me and my man” (Heltah Skeltah)

I thought you knew, “Obey has a posse”. It all started with that sticker “Andre the Giant has a posse“. The oddest marketing plan ever came to mind to Shepard Fairey, Obey founder and CEO: to let people puzzled about the actual meaning of these stickers that they saw everywhere on the streets. Let’s take a step back: what is a posse? You call by this name an equipe of individuals that make moves under a common denominator. It basically comes from reggae slang you think? Nice try but actually the posse was the armed group of big boys able to help the sheriff during medieval era. Since the posse it’s getting bigger, it involves more and more females. It seemed just right to give back to them with one of the most inspired womens collections ever in street wear, like I told you last time that we saw an Obey top here. Take this Melted Pigment Throwback Crewneck that Irene B is rockin’ today. Isn’t it mad sweet? What strikes at first is its color. A light lilac close to a washed up lavender color make this piece unique. A slightly oversized fit is what gives it that 80’s look that is in the intentions of the designer. The color palette used for that dripping font is pastel toned and this alone shows Obey attention to details that somewhere else would be not so important. What is important is that your shop has a huge Obey selection. If they don’t, report this immediately to Blue Distribution: they will come over with the whole posse to talk to the owner…
