Pitti Immagine Uomo ● Fall Winter 19/20

It is becoming a meeting place that I can’t miss for any reason. Pitti Immagine Uomo is the only way that I can meet so many movers and shakers of the streetwear industry in Italy. Be it distributors, sales agents and artists I am connected with, they all know that going to Florence at Fortezza Da Basso for our meeting is mandatory.

While for me it represents a good time, Pitti requires a lot of work for the exhibitors: they all make sure that the next news are on display, giving the importance they deserve. Blue Distribution had its first Edwin booth showing the true beauty of Japanese denim.

Another Blue booth was Herschel, where you may peep in advance the official collaborations with Independent, Santa Cruz and Basquiat that elevated the street credibility of a brand that gets a lot of love already on Italian soil.

More footwear, less problems: Clae had on display a style chunkier than the average, also featuring a Vibram outsole. It is a collaboration style called Edwin (not the denim brand) with Bleu de Paname, designed by Salehe Bembury. He is the same designer responsible for Versace Chain Reaction sneakers.

Makia was there with the winning team Franz + Totti, holding it down. The main news is that now rubber expert Tretorn collaborated with the brand. Its outdoor based capsule in a sailing style has me counting days until the drop.

Asfvlt Sneakers showed us its new chunky styles and new colorways of the already existing ones, like with these Speed Socks. The craftsmanship here went from the original geometric design to a stylized romantic rose.

Hype had me super happy to visit its stand: beside the top level of coolness of its collection, they had a permanent DJ set with my homie Sir K at the mixer. Peep how the sublimated print of this snake dress is ready to make you the freshest at the next party, girl…

Superdry had a very busy booth. I had to fight my way to give you this picture of Strike holding this sherpa jacket but here it is. Expect camouflage jackets and a strong outdoor vibe from this global lifestyle brand that represents the jewel of Interjeans roster.

I also ventured in Ellesse booth and its retro touch on streetwear is something else. Look how amazing is this version of the classic Avidor track jacket.

But as I said before it’s also a meeting place so I have a few bonus pictures here.
Me and Simone Ponziani from Artcrafts. He was flowing me Airwalk shoes around 87.

Me and DJ Double S. He is one of the OGs of Italian hip hop movement and his skills don’t need any introduction.

Me and Sir K, kidnapped during his DJ set

Me and Arturo, this trapper whose fame is bigger than life that agreed to get a shot with me really easily. A cool baller.
Will you be there to join the tribe at the next edition in July?
