Servant Footwear – Loiter LX Tabac

One of my old school heroes is Mike Valley without a doubt. The Jersey renegade had me buying his deck when his first pro model came out. An originator and not a duplicator, beside his style of skating Mike V got me interested in his sponsorship history that went through a considerable amounts of team switches. The one that left me puzzled was his latest shoe sponsor: Servant Footwear. A veteran pro skater from the States that gets a sponsorship deal in Sweden? It was last July at ShitFootMongoLand in Berlin that I had the pleasure to meet with Rasmus Ährberg, the man behind the brand and he explained me many things. Servant is run by two independent designers that at a point in their life decided to do their own thing and started this venture. The name Servant is there to remember that you should not follow any “sneakerhead cult” but you always have to remember that… shoes are your servants. Don’t let your shoes own you! The main logo of this brand is a S among a cross and an upside down cross. Rasmus explained that “no matter which church you follow, you’re only a servant to them”. No surprise then that Mike V decided that this is the right shoe brand for him. Here in Marica B hands you have the Loiter LX, a fabric/suede mix ready to skate. The cupsole has the feeling of a vulcanized outsole and is triple stitched but its full-length EVA wedge is what will keep your feet protected and comfortable. I knew Mike V was right…
