Of all the European brands, Sixpack France is the one that corresponds the most to my idea of style. The reason is simple: knowledge, background and vision.
A true love for the best music of the last 30 years is the engine of the brand. I can honestly tell you that from the first New Wave to Gangsta rap, via some Electro up to the recent Trap, the crew behind Sixpack has passion for quality and can tell good from bad with an open spirit.
The same state of mind applied to apparel is the recipe of the success of the brand through the years. An open mind, imagination and the strong desire to express rather than “only dress”.
This Sixpack shirt is called Godhead and it has been inspired by a Sonic Youth joint called “Radical Adults Lick Godhead Style”. I don’t know if you are familiar with this but Sonic Youth is the only band that ever had in a video the skateboarding action of the OG Blind Skateboards team.
The technique of printing words in this way, on this item worn by Dario P comes from Cut-Up. Largely used by Dadaists and William S. Burroughs, this way of interacting with texts was created during the Beat Generation.
As far as the shirt, it’s the result of an Italicization of the brand where its latest production is made in Italy, in Veneto to be exact.
Check back The Maxiemillion tomorrow, because I will post another Sixpack item for a “3 days special” starting today. In the meantime you may browse Sixpack website and cop this shirt from there, you Godhead!
