Stance conquered sock market with a flawless approach. To be totally honest, it created such market. Beside other brands of socks outside the streetwear scene, no other action sports brand of socks existed before. Once it had the love of the fans of this section of sports, it expanded to baseball, basketball, golf, running and even to street fashion, with Stance female section art directed by none else than Rihanna.
Stance is the outcome of a Californian lifestyle where you just spend a good portion of your week at a skate/surf shop to hang out, do your shopping and of course to get the news before they get Instagrammed.
In such a state of mind, these Shane socks pay homage to a Cali classic in surf videos called Momentum. The countercultural project of Taylor Steele that goes back to 1992 pairs surf action with a punk soundtrack featuring bands by the likes of Blink-182, Offspring and Pennywise. This VHS is so influential that stayed a classic to this very day, when Stance decided it was about time to recognize its actual value.
The sublimated print socks here worn by Gloria L have a strong royal blue colorway with the name of the video written on the heels. No matter if surf is your life or you just like their impact, there no denying about their freshness.
Come back tomorrow because I have decided to start a 3 days special on Stance. I did this before and it felt great so I’m doing it again. In the meantime you may browse Blakshop section dedicated to Stance socks and try to guess which one I will post tomorrow…
