When you talk Jeff Staple you are talking about a don. Somebody that not only owns and follows closely his own brand Staple but also a strategist, considering that he gets to talk in workshops as a man of experience (and style). Just to figure it out he is the man responsible for the Reed Space, the progressive lifestyle boutique and art gallery in the heart of New York. It’s with a true Newyorker heart that he approaches the design of pieces such as this Cork hoodie. It has to be innovative and cross boundaries. Multipurpose and subject to change. Just like the city that he is from. This piece is not a hoodie, nor a windbreaker and not even an anorak: it’s the three of them! An item like this is responsive to the life in the Big Apple: effective solutions like two waterproof zippers that you wouldn’t have in an hoodie. The style of this color block top is divided into a cork print and a track jacket. The more I looked at it, the more I found out forward thinking details such as the plastic 3d dots over the word Staple. How about a print under the armpits? Or brushed cuffs and hem to create a vintage feeling?! Blue Distribution is in charge of Staple for Italy so if you are not living in the past and you have a shop all you have to do is get in touch with your local rep and ask about it. I have peeped some nice Staple pieces real quick even on Blakshop, if that is your shop… Pictures courtesy of O’Graph.
